Egyptian Dawn With Robert Temple

This recently published book byRobert Temple is an extremely important shift in our understanding of ancient BronzeAge History and goes far beyond the point I had already reached.

As I have already discussed andposted on extensively, an Atlantic sea based society known as Atlantean expiredfrom a massive seismic event in 1159 BC. The cause was the violent explosion of Hekla in Iceland. Theresultant tsunami wiped out all coastal Atlantean trade ports and ended thetransatlantic copper and metal trade.  Weunderstood that this society was at least a few centuries old and plausiblyarose from the two thousand year rise of the European Bronze Age.

Conclusion 4    Besides sea going navigation they mastered agreat deal of astronomical lore leading to the construction of the many hengeswe are familiar with.  This buildingimpulse culminated with the building of the Great Pyramid.

Conclusion 5    This culture hugely informed the Egyptian successorculture and from there the Greek culture.

For me the surprise is tounderstand the huge role played by Atlanteans in both Egypt and the rich farm lands of Libya.  Subconsciously, I had discounted thatinfluence and still discounted the extent of the damage inflicted on Atlanteanculture by the Tsunami.

Although seabourne, and palacebased with no true urban center, let alone central governance, and effectivelypre literate, it traded itself into existence and took advantage of its abilityto concentrate forces to dominate the entire Atlantic and Mediterraneanlittoral.

It is worth mentioning that thesehenges are certainly shrines to Poseidon in particular and were used toestablish annual time points.
